How to remove crashinfo file marked as deleted in cisco router

Recently, after installed some hardware parts in a Cisco router 3600 series, I got a booting error. After I fall-back to the original hardware configuration, there are some crash reports stored in the flash. It looks like:

System flash directory:
File Length Name/status
1 26768192 c3640-js-mz.124-7a.bin
2 9271 crashinfo_20020301-000014 [deleted]
3 9271 crashinfo_20020301-000013 [deleted]
4 9271 crashinfo_20020301-000013 [deleted]
5 9271 crashinfo_20020301-000013 [deleted]
[26805600 bytes used, 6224540 available, 33030140 total]
32768K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)

However, delete flash: command not works because those files are marked as deleted. In system level, those files not exist in logical, but it exist in physical memory in real. To clean these files up, Cisco recommend use the following command to swipe it away.

squeeze flash:

You should see the following output after run the command:

Squeeze operation may take a while. Continue? [confirm]
squeeze in progress... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Rebuild file system directory...
Squeeze of flash complete

When the process completed, the crash report will be gone.

Officially, Cisco recommended user should upload the crash reports to TFTP server before remove the files.
